Determining trigger values of suspended sediment for behavioral changes in a coral reef fish

► Change in habitat association was examined to reveal suspended sediment thresholds. ► Individuals could not find suitable habitat beyond the sediment threshold. ► Above the threshold, individuals reduced exploration of the surrounding environment. ► Sediment threshold regularly exceeded in inshore zone of the Great Barrier Reef.
