Molecular and biochemical biomarkers responses in the mussel Mytilus edulis collected from Southern Brazil coast

► We evaluated two sites with different contamination input in Southern Brazil coast. ► Molecular and biochemical biomarkers from Mytilus edulis tissues were analyzed. ► Changes in some investigated biomarkers were found in mussels from the polluted site. ► Environmental monitoring programs in this region could employ biomarkers analysis.
