Ingestion of plastic marine debris by longnose lancetfish (Alepisaurus ferox) in the North Pacific Ocean

► We evaluated ingestion of plastic debris by longnose lancetfish (Alepisaurus ferox). ► We quantified the amount and type of plastic marine debris ingested. ► 24% of A. ferox ingested plastic marine debris. ► Plastic fragments were the dominant type of debris ingested followed by rope. ► No relation was found among size of debris ingested and A. ferox morphometrics.
