Occurrence of deoxynivalenol in durum wheat from Morocco

► We investigate the presence of deoxynivalenol (DON) in durum wheat from Morocco. ► We find that 11.1% of total samples were contaminated with DON. ► We find more contamination in samples from Rabat-Salé area than other areas. ► We conclude that meteorological conditions in Morocco could be suitable for DON production in cereals.
