Estimation of dietary intake and content of lead and cadmium in infant cereals marketed in Spain

► Heavy metals content was analysed in the most infant cereals marketed in Spain. ► Two organically produced and one conventional cereal exceeded the Pb limit of EC. ► Added ingredients mainly cocoa contribute the enrichment of formulation with metals. ► A call for a revision of Pb and Cd guideline values for infant cereal is suggested.
