Luminescence dating of beach ridges for characterizing multi-decadal to centennial deltaic shoreline changes during Late Holocene, Mekong River delta

► Forty-seven OSL ages were determined for beach ridges of the Mekong River delta. ► Decadal- to centennial-scale shoreline changes since 3500 years ago were illustrated. ► The chronology clarified the regularity of the shoreline progradation in the past. ► Effects of climate changes on shoreline accretion and retreat were inferred. ► Decrease in sediment supply does not exclusively cause the recent costal erosion.
