Transgressive deposits along the actively deforming Eel River Margin, Northern California

► Sea-level rise was the main control on sediment distribution from ~ 21 to 7 ka. ► Tectonic deformation became more important as sea-level rise slowed after ~ 7 ka. ► On the inner shelf tectonics is the main control on sediment thickness variation. ► On the mid to outer shelf sediment is aggrading in the Eel River delta. ► Deposition in the Eel River Syncline is syntectonic with rates of ~ 3 mm/yr.
