Using multiple structural proteomics approaches for the characterization of prion proteins

► Prion protein conversion was characterized by structural proteomics methods. ► Limited proteolysis, surface modification, HDX, and crosslinking were used. ► Data from multiple approaches indicate rearrangement of the H1-β2/H2-H3 interface. ► The H1-β2-rigid loop is the region of conformational change during prion conversion.
