⺠A novel dolichol phosphate was identified in the thermoacidophilic archaeon, Sulfolobus acidocaldarius using LC-ESI/MS/MS. ⺠The unusually short S. acidocaldarius dolichol phosphate presents a degree of saturation not previously reported. ⺠S. acidocaldarius dolichol phosphate α- and Ï-position isoprenes are saturated, as are intra-chain isoprenes. ⺠Hexose-charged dolichol phosphate species were also detected.
