Accumulation of a bioactive triterpene saponin fraction of Quillaja brasiliensis leaves is associated with abiotic and biotic stresses
چکیده انگلیسی
► Accumulation of a Quillaja brasiliensis bioactive saponin fraction was analyzed. ► Osmotic agents, wounding, and UV-C exposure stimulated saponin accumulation. ► Increased saponin yield was also observed by jasmonate or salicylic acid exposure. ► These terpenes may play a role in defense responses. ► Moderate stress exposure may be strategic to obtain higher bioactive saponin yields.
