Corrosion resistance of multilayer coatings of nanolayered Cr/Ni electrodeposited from Cr(III)-Ni(II) bath

► Monolayer and multi nanolayers of Cr/Ni were electrodeposited from a single bath. ► The single bath contained trivalent Cr and divalent Ni ions. ► The coatings were electrodeposited by using pulse current and modulated agitation. ► Optimized 20 nm Cr/50 nm Ni multilayer coating had the highest corrosion resistance.
