Convergence of trophic state and the lower food web in Lakes Huron, Michigan and Superior

► We examine trophic state in lakes Huron, Michigan and Superior. ► Lakes Huron and Michigan show signs of increasing oligotrophication in recent years. ► In many respects Lake Huron is currently more oligotrophic than Lake Superior. ► Zooplankton communities in the lakes have are very similar in size and composition.
