Accumulation features of trace elements in mass-stranded harbor seals (Phoca vitulina) in the North Sea coast in 2002: The body distribution and association with growth and nutrition status

► There is little information on accumulation of trace elements in marine mammals. ► We measured 21 trace elements in harbor seals stranded in the North Sea coast. ► Unique body distribution of trace elements was observed. ► Growth and nutritional status were significant factors on trace element accumulation.
