Appraisal of Thai glutinous rice husk for health promotion products

► Rice husks of the RD 6 variety were refluxed with water for at 30, 60 and 120 min ► The longest extraction had the highest yield, antioxidant activity and active content. ► Fatty acids of cosmetic importance were quantified. ► Phenolic content was related to antioxidant activity and fatty acid content. ► The extract was non-cytotoxic, compatible and stable in cosmetic formulations.
