- 2-PMPA is a potent and selective glutamate carboxypeptidase II inhibitor.
- 2-PMPA has shown efficacy in >20 animal models of neurological/psychiatric diseases.
- Bioanalysis of 2-PMPA has been challenging due to its multiple negative charges.
- We report derivatization method enabling 2-PMPA detection by LC/MS/MS.
- We report, for first time, 2-PMPA plasma pharmacokinetics and tissue distribution.
