Buried polymer/metal interfaces examined with Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy

► Buried interfaces between thin (< 100 nm) polymer films and Au are revealed. ► Micro-patterns of self-assembled monolayer on Au covered by polystyrene are detected. ► Different interactions between individual polyaniline domains and Au are shown.
