Leucodermies

Leucoderma is a whitish discoloration of skin color. We suggest a diagnostic work-up of leucodermas relying on extension of disease and age at onset. The following diseases and entities will be discussed in this chapter : oculocutaneous albinism, other generalized genetic leucodermas, tuberous sclerosis, piebaldism and Waardenburg syndrome, pigmentary mosaicism and achromic hamartoma, vitiligo, exogenous leucoderma, Sutton phenomenon, white tumors, infectious and inflammatory leucodermas as well as post-inflammatory hypopigmentation, progressive macular hypomelanosis, pityriasis alba, idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis, anemic hamartoma and Bier spots. Treatment of leucoderma is discussed and will be focused on the treatment of vitiligo.
