Cyclooxygenases and 5-lipoxygenase in Alzheimer's disease
چکیده انگلیسی
►Cyclooxygenases (COX) and 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) are considered inflammatory enzymes. ►COXs and 5-LOX appear to participate in the pathobiology of Alzheimer's disease (AD). ►Their role in AD may involve both inflammatory and inflammation-unrelated mechanisms. ►These mechanisms include the cell-specific brain localization of COXs and 5-LOX. ►Also involved could be a specific interplay between the COXs and 5-LOX pathways.
