آشنایی با موضوع

نژاد ممکن است به یکی از موارد زیر اشاره داشته باشد: 1. نژاد (انسان) بزرگ‌ترین گونه‌های انسان 2. نژاد (زیست‌شناسی) حاصل تقسیم یک گونه یکسان بر اساس تفاوت‌های کوچک ژنتیکی و ریخت‌شناسی 3. نژادهای پرورشی گروه ویژه‌ای از حیوانات اهلی یا گیاهان که دارای شکل، رفتار و دیگر ویژگی های همگون هستند. نژاد به خصوصیات بیولوژیکی شخص برمی‌گردد و شامل رنگ پوست، رنگ مو، رنگ چشم و مشخصاتی از این قبیل است. حتی شامل بیماری‌های خاصی که یک نژاد ممکن است به آن مبتلا شوند هم می‌شود. درست است در تعریف نژاد روی مشخصات بیولوژیکی تاکید داشتیم، اما باید مدنظر داشته باشید که مفاهیم مختلفی از نژاد توسط دولت‌ها و قوانین وجود خواهد داشت که ربطی به علم ندارد. نژاد به هیچ عنوان شامل خصوصیات رفتاری و گرایش‌های فرهنگی شخص که بسیار تحت تاثیر محیط شکل می‌گیرند نیست. اگر ۳ شخص که دارای نژادهای یکسانی باشند، از فرهنگ‌های کاملا جداگانه‌ای بیایند رفتارهای آنها کاملا مطابق با آن گروه و فرهنگ خاصی خواهد بود که از آن می‌آیند، در صورتی که مشخصه‌های بیولوژیکی آنها بدون تغییر خواهد ماند. تغییرات نژادی زمانی نمود پیدا می‌کنند که، انسان‌هایی از دو نژاد متفاوت باهم وصلت کنند، به عنوان مثال وقتی شخصی با نژاد آفریقایی - آمریکایی با شخصی با اصلیت چینی ازدواج کند فرزندی که از این وصلت به وجود می‌آید مسلما در خصوصیات فیزیکی آن تغییراتی حاصل خواهد شد. بنابراین این چنین وصلت‌هایی منجر به تغییراتی در نژادهای بعدی خواهد شد. مثال: همه‌ی ما با نژادپرستی آشنایی داریم و نمونه‌های زیادی از آن را در طول تاریخ مشاهده کرده‌ایم. سفید پوستان علیه آفریقایی - آمریکایی‌ها، آلمان‌ها علیه یهودی‌ها که منجر به جنگ‌های خونین شده که همگی فقط بر سر نژاد بوده‌اند. به مرور زمان، تا حد زیادی از این اختلافات کاسته شده است اما هنوز آثاری از نژادپرستی در جهان دیده می‌شود. در انتها چند مثال را برای درک بهتر این مفهوم عنوان می‌کنیم: چینی‌ها، هندی‌ها، عرب‌ها و آفریقایی - آمریکایی‌ها که نمونه‌هایی از نژاد هستند.
